CHAPTER 2 OF 9

02 / Get your host key

First, get your key to the host desk.

A host key lets you create games and use your saved question sets. It is private. It is different from the game code you share with players.

  1. Choose a package at trividiots.live/get-started.

Try the free mini-game or choose a paid hosting package. Verify your email for a free-trial key; paid keys appear after confirmed Stripe checkout. Use the same email to recover your key. For help or venue questions, email support@trividiots.live.

  2. Open the host dashboard.

After email verification or successful payment, select Open my host dashboard—you are already signed in on that device. For a gift, use the button in your TrivIdiots invitation, verify the recipient email, then open the dashboard. On another device, recover your key by email or enter your private host key at trividiots.live/host and select Continue hosting.

  3. Let this device remember you.

After a successful sign-in, this browser remembers your host access. To use another device, open the same dashboard and enter the same host key there.

  4. Keep the host key to yourself.

Players do not need it. Give them the game's QR code or game code instead. Use Forget this device to sign out on a shared computer. Contact support if you lose your key or think someone else has it.

Two codes. Two jobs.

HOST KEY = your private access to host games. GAME CODE = the short code everyone can use to join one game. Sharing the game code is good. Sharing the host key is not.
