TrivIdiots Terms of Use

Effective date: October 20, 2026

These Terms explain the rules for hosting and playing games at trividiots.live. Please read them before using the service.

1. Who can play

Players must be at least 13, or any higher minimum age required where they live. Children under 13 may not use TrivIdiots. Follow any additional age restrictions imposed by your host or venue. Hosts must have authority to arrange their events and any permissions required by their venue or applicable law.

2. Hosting access

Hosting requires a private host code issued by TrivIdiots. Keep that code private. It is different from the game code you share with players. You may use your host code on multiple devices. Do not publish, sell, or give it to other people without permission. Let us know if you suspect someone has accessed it without authorization. We may replace or revoke codes to address misuse or protect the service. Players can join games for free. If a venue or independent host charges for an event or other services, those charges are separate from TrivIdiots. Contact us for information about hosting access. Using a host code does not authorize an automatic subscription or recurring charge.

Hosting packages, billing, and allowances

The package page and Stripe checkout show your price and included allowances before purchase. Prices are in USD, plus applicable taxes. Friends & Family is a one-time payment for ten full games. Monthly packages renew automatically each month until cancelled. Cancel through Manage billing on your remembered host device, or contact support@trividiots.live for help. Cancellation stops future renewals; access normally continues through the paid period. Refund requests and payment disputes are handled through support and applicable consumer rights remain protected. A game allowance is used when you select Start game, not when you create a waiting lobby. Only one started game may be active per package key. Monthly game and generation allowances reset at the start of each paid billing period and do not roll over. Trial access is one mini-game per verified email: three normal questions and one bonus, up to four teams, with no personal question generation. Each generation credit prepares ninety approved normal questions plus its required specials. Under the revised reviewed-deck workflow, all ninety normal questions and numeric tiebreak reserves are prepared independently; three wager bonuses are selected and frozen per game from a finite reviewed deck. If suitable unseen entries cannot fill a game, the host must explicitly choose reviewed text wagers or accept repeats. Repeats are never silently substituted in this workflow. The starter deck is small and offline-reviewed, not human-playtested, and has no theme-specific visual inventory. Text fallback preserves the selected theme and exclusions. The revised bonus workflow is disclosed for acceptance before a new personal preparation. Hosts who require an originally offered fresh-visual preparation may retain their unused credit and contact support instead. Existing saved preparations and games retain their original bonus contracts and previously agreed completion rules. These workflow changes do not change purchased prices or game/generation allowances. Preparation reserves the credit; reaching Ready spends it; cancelling before Ready releases the credit but does not replenish the preparation safety limit. Original attempts, retries and replacement requests of the same generation type share the purchased billing period's preparation limit. If it is reached or earlier spending cannot be verified, preparation pauses for support review while unused credits and approved questions are retained. Resuming the same preparation does not spend another credit. Finite retry and preparation-attempt limits apply; unsupported or unsuccessful themes require support rather than weakening the review process. Built-in collections are finite and repeated games may repeat questions. Shared monthly collections become available when published. Your private game teams, answers and scores remain separate from other hosts. Existing host keys retain their existing access unless separately assigned a package. New monthly purchases use the offer shown before purchase; existing keys and purchases keep their original price and allowances. A host key identifies server-stored permissions; it does not encode your email or payment information.

3. Running and playing games

Hosts are responsible for organizing their events, selecting content appropriate for their audience, explaining game and prize rules, and handling answer challenges fairly. Players must follow the announced rules. Do not interfere with other teams, manipulate submissions or scores, or use assistance prohibited by the host. Game point wagers are scoring choices, not monetary payments through TrivIdiots. Do not use the service for unlawful gambling or promotions. Independent hosts and venues are responsible for their own events and prizes.

4. AI questions and scoring

TrivIdiots uses AI services, including OpenAI, to generate and review questions, assess answers, and create game commentary or roasts. AI can make mistakes. Questions, answers, commentary, and scoring may be inaccurate, ambiguous, repetitive, inconsistent, or unsuitable for an audience. Generating or reviewing content with AI does not guarantee independent factual verification. Hosts should check questions and answers where possible and address errors fairly. Players should raise disputes with their host. TrivIdiots is an entertainment service; we do not guarantee that every question or scoring decision will be correct.

5. Names, answers, and game information

Players enter a game code and team name. The service stores game information, including submitted answers, point wagers, scores, and completed game history. Hosts can inspect completed game history. Team names, answers, verdicts, score changes, rankings, and selected roasts can be visible during play. Relevant question, evidence, and gameplay text is sent to AI providers for generation, review, grading, and commentary. Use a team name you are comfortable displaying. Do not submit passwords, payment details, sensitive personal information, or another person's private information. Contact us with questions about your information or to request its deletion.

Email access and payment information

For instant access or key recovery, we store your email, package, payment status, usage counters, and Stripe customer, order and subscription identifiers. Verification emails are sent through our email provider and expire after fifteen minutes. We do not store card numbers; card entry and payment processing happen through Stripe-hosted checkout. Stripe processes payment and billing information under its own privacy terms. Keep your host key private and contact support@trividiots.live to report misuse or request help with your information.

6. Content and themed games

TrivIdiots and its licensors retain the rights they hold in the service's software, design, branding, and content. Authorized hosts and players may use the service and provided trivia content to run and participate in games. This does not authorize reselling access or distributing question libraries as a separate product. You retain any rights you have in material you submit. You permit TrivIdiots to process, store, and display it as needed to run the service, including AI generation, review, grading, commentary, and game results. References to shows, films, books, brands, or public figures identify trivia subjects. Unless expressly stated with authorization, TrivIdiots and its themed games are not affiliated with or endorsed by those rights holders. A theme does not give you permission to use protected clips, music, logos, photographs, artwork, or scripts. Obtain any permissions required for material you add or use to promote an event. An unofficial disclaimer does not itself provide those permissions.

7. Acceptable use

Do not submit unlawful, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or infringing content; impersonate someone or disclose their private information without permission; bypass access controls or seek unauthorized access; disrupt, overload, or abuse the service; or use the service for an unlawful purpose. We may restrict access or remove content to address misuse, security risks, legal obligations, or harm to others.

8. Availability and legal rights

TrivIdiots relies on internet connections and other service providers. Interruptions, delays, and technical errors can occur. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or permanent storage of game information. Hosts should have a backup plan for live events. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or responsibilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

9. Updates and contact

We may update these Terms as the service develops. The effective date identifies the current version. Changes do not authorize new charges or remove rights that applicable law protects. Contact us for more information about hosting, these Terms, game issues, or personal information: support@trividiots.live.
